The Club

The Downs Netball Club has been running since 1950’s and is highly regarded and well established elite performance club.

We are run 10 senior teams who play in the Premier League Division 1, Regional League Division 1, Poly League Division 1, Met League Div 5 and Surrey League Div 2. and Kingston League.

We have three highly qualified and experienced lead volunteer coaches in the club, Natalie Swift Head Coach of the seniors, Eunice Smith Head of Juniors and Mel Portman who coaches the Met and Surrey teams.  Both Eunice and Natalie have played for England and Mel has played Premier league for nearly 10 years.

The club is well supported with a very active committee who organise and keep the club running smoothly over the season.

The Downs also has a flourishing junior section with teams represented at U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 level.  The junior section is growing very fast which has lead to the introduction of our first netball group that run on a Tuesday evening at City of London Freeman’s school. This session offers players 11 and under or players who need some extra technical work the opportunity to get some extra training.

We also have strong links in the community with our Downs’ Academies.  These are programmes that are linked with state schools in Surrey.  In partnership with Fulham Football Club, The Downs offer support through coaching, resources support and talent support to help netballers fulfil their potential and encourage as many girls to participate as possible.  We have four Academies running in 2015 and hope to double that number next season.
